Howdy!

I’m a photographer based in Austin, Texas who loves photographing families in the thick of life and couples on their wedding day. ALL THE GOOD STUFF! The joy AND the tears.

I love film photography so I often use film cameras in my sessions, both medium-format and 35mm film cameras.

I approach family photography as a blend of documenting the personalities that make your family uniquely yours, along with my fine art portraiture style. We’ll play, messes might be made, and there will be lots of laughs. I often photograph families inside their own homes, because I love window light and because kids are often most relaxed and themselves at home.

I photograph weddings primarily from a photo-documentary perspective, and also include my fine art portraiture, because HELLO! I love portraits, and we’ll have fun with them! And I also get that your mom wants to hang up some portraits all over her house. Your wedding day will be one you’ll remember forever, and the pictures I make for you will become family heirlooms to cherish forever.

My favorite subjects are people, and I love portraits! However, my portraits are anything but basic. I’m inspired by shadows and light, that kinetic energy you can feel on your skin, and a sentimental longing that connects us all. Weddings have all of that in spades, PLUS, as a sentimental fool, I’ll be the one following your grandma around with a camera all night in order to capture that multi-generational love.

I’m mama to two children who are a little bit wild, and my best adventure companions. I grew up on a lake in Iowa, and my adventure heart never quit those big open skies. I LOVE anything having to do with water and the ocean, especially surfing. Austin is perfect for me because I’m super laid back and I love to catch live music as much as possible.

I was named to Photo Lucida’s Critical Mass Top 50 2017 and one of Click and Company’s 100 photographers to watch 2018.
